Balfour Beatty Rail, Inc. provides a full range of overhead
catenary line systems to meet the diverse needs of clients across the
United States. We install and maintain every type and speed of system.
Our

and working conditions. Balfour Beatty Rail furnishes a tough, reliable
product you can trust.
High-speed
rail is usually defined as traveling faster than 124 miles (200
kilometers) per hour. In the late 1990s, Balfour Beatty Rail completed
the electrification of a 157-mile section of the Northeast Corridor
between New Haven and Boston. This allowed the Acela Express (Amtrak's
high-speed tilting train) to reach speeds of 150 miles per hour on
certain parts of the system.
Balfour Beatty Rail has its own skilled overhead line installation
teams that can develop special components and equipment.
Every region in today's congested world has its own special mass
transportation needs and conditions. Balfour Beatty Rail can produce
overhead line systems that meet these various requirements and provide
the required level of reliability.
Balfour Beatty Rail has
developed innovative solutions to improve design aesthetics, including
architecturally designed equipment for use in many cities. Our skilled
installation staff has broad experience constructing overhead lines for
light rail, trolley bus and streetcar applications.
We
have extensive experience integrating the design and construction of
overhead lines with other rail disciplines, especially track. By
managing these key interfaces, we reduce the customer's risk
significantly.
