Balfour Beatty Rail, Inc. was contracted to rehabilitate the railroad tracks on the Texas New Mexico Railroad and the West Texas & Lubbock Railway. We installed more than 20,000 wood ties, removed and relayed more than 8,500 linear feet of jointed rail and 80,000 linear feet of CWR. The team installed 11 turnouts, and constructed three sidings to allow passage of trains and increase storage capacity.

Balfour Beatty Rail also constructed shop tracks in Wolfforth, TX, and Eunice, NM. We supplied ballast and surfaced 33 track miles along with an additional 55 days of spot surfacing. We were also responsible for rehabilitating and replacing 3 public and private road crossings on the TNMR. The intent was to bring the track to Class II FRA Safety Standards rated for freight trains up to 25 mph.
