Balfour Beatty Rail, Inc. was contracted to rehabilitate a section
of track for the Kettle Falls Railroad. This work included the
installation of 17,880 wood ties and replacement of jointed rail with
4,921 feet of continuously welded relay, with 115 RE rail of differing
lengths. The rail was unloaded from a CWR train and bolted together on
the job site. The team also unloaded 18 ballast cars, surfaced and aligned 40
track miles of track, and re-gauged and anchored 250 feet of
track.
