The
Rail Services team from the Gillette, Wyo., office completed 11.5 miles
of new ribbon rail for the Arch Coal Black Thunder Mine near Wright,
Wyo. The team fastened the track with a combination of concrete ties,
wood ties with Pandrol fasteners, and wood ties with normal cut spikes.
The five yard tracks each measured 9,000 feet and included loop track
that takes coal trains over a scale to certify their weight. The job
included 13 turnouts and involved complete construction from the
sub-ballast level on up.
