Balfour Beatty Rail Expands West Coast Transit Presence(SAN
FRANCISCO) – The Transit division of Balfour Beatty Rail, Inc. is
expanding its West Coast footprint with the creation of a new Bay Area
office located in San Francisco. The company has recruited two longtime
industry professionals to serve transit clients in the Bay Area and
Pacific Northwest.
Martin Gillman is a new regional manager, an
industry veteran with 41 years of experience in transit and heavy
electrical construction. Gillman co-founded Kingston Contracting Inc.
in 1978. The company, which has performed more than $300 million of
work, specializes in traction power substations installation, catenary
systems, signaling, communication systems and other services in the
rail transit industry. He has been an executive with Kingston
Contracting since its formation.
Gillman studied computer
programming, construction law and mechanic’s lien law at California
State University in San Francisco; and engineering and business at
California State University in Northridge.
Brian Seamount also
joins Balfour Beatty Rail’s new San Francisco office as a senior
project manager. He also comes from Kingston Contracting, where he
served as vice president. Seamount has a bachelor of science degree in
electrical engineering from California Polytechnic State University.
Since entering the field in 1989, he has been in several different
roles within the industry, including systems engineer and construction
project manager.

to our staff, which is already deep in experience,” said Joe Reed, vice
president of Balfour Beatty Rail’s Transit division. “Having their
breadth of experience in San Francisco gives Balfour Beatty Rail an
important new anchor point to better serve transit clients in the
growing Bay Area and Pacific Northwest markets.”
The new San Francisco location of Balfour Beatty Rail is 512 South Airport Boulevard, South San Francisco, CA 94080.
