EH&S Specialist, West Covina, CA
General Responsibilities include:
Provide overall management direction for rail transit construction at a field project, or two or more smaller projects.
Typical Duties:
- Develops,
interprets, recommends, and complies with safety, health and
environmental regulations, with applicable federal state and local
regulatory agencies.
- Take effective steps to ensure that
workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state
occupational safety and health standard provisions ensuring that all
required records are prepared and maintained.
- Lead EH&S
training programs to ensure all employees are trained to control risks
inherent in the workplace and record on safety training database.
Instill safety awareness and safety responsibility at the employee
level.
- Ensure proper consideration is given to EH&S
programs in facility budget process. Has oversight and hands-on
responsibilities for all aspects of security (physical security,
information security, emergency preparedness, access, visitor control
and awareness of environmental health and safety regulations).
- Coordinate
company environmental, health and safety management systems to
integrate into the contract operations. Prepare for and participate in
all reviews, audits and self assessments.
- Coordinate
Environmental, Health and Safety, and fire/life safety projects.
Maintain a high regard for personnel safety, for the safety of company
assets, employees, and the general public.
- Maintain frequent
and open interchange with management during all phases of project
safety development and implementation, reviewing and communicating
information on status.
Applicant should have at least five
years safety coordination experience in a construction or rail road
environment preferably with at least one of the following qualifications
- Certified Health and Safety Technician,
- Certified Safety Professional or
- Registered Safety Professional

Design Build Project Manager, Denver
Primary Function:
Provide overall management direction for rail transit construction at a field project, or two or more smaller projects.
Typical Duties:
- Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
- Monitor/control
construction through administrative direction of on-site superintendent
to ensure the design build project is built on schedule and within
budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement
corrective measures.
- Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage
financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment,
income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously
maintain good relationship with client.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
Educational
and experience requirements include: Extensive and verifiable (10 or
more years as a project manager) experience/knowledge of civil and
transit construction, design, finance and management required. Must be
able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to
maximize employee performance. Thorough understanding of corporate and
industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on
project activities. Superior communication and interpersonal (tact,
diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. Must be a
business-oriented person.
Position is located in Denver and
reports to director of operations. Makes decisions and recommendations
that can greatly impact corporate relationship with client and project
profitability. Management responsibility generally limited to smaller
less critical projects.
